The cheap way to get out of hell, and the first step to Israel
Know who you will call when you get to Israel. Have phone numbers of family and friends and at least 20 shekels Israeli money to make a phone call.

If you are caught by the police or army in Israel say you are a refugee from Darfur. They will help you more if they know this.
Do you have a guide from the Egypt to Israel? I heard about a guide through a friend, they cost about $600 to arrange in Khartoum. I heard that a man will take you to the house of an officer that lives on the border where you will be for a few days. When it is his turn to guard the border he will have his men guide you towards the border at night, and you will have to walk until you find civilization.
Do you have a guide that will take you to a big city when you get inside Israel? If you don’t have a guide inside Israel you will probably be caught and arrested.
Israel will not send you back to Egypt, and you can stay, but you will be imprisoned for a couple of weeks to almost a year.
While in prison the organizations can’t help very much, but the Hotline for Migrant Workers does twice a week and helps.
If you are caught he should say that he is seeking refuge and tell the truth – not to fight with the soldiers and to not lie.
Most Sudanese refugees are released from prison either because of due process, or because there is no more room in prison to put the new ones.
After you are released you should be able to find work and not be arrested again.
You should know that the Egyptian border army does shoot refugees and some are even killed. it doesn’t happen a lot, but it does happen.

إذا كنت قبضت عليه الشرطة أو الجيش في اسرائيل ويقول كنت لاجئا من دارفور. انها ستساعدك أكثر إذا كانوا يعرفون ذلك.

اسرائيل لن ترسل لك العودة إلى مصر ، ويمكنك البقاء ، ولكنك سوف بالسجن لمدة أسبوعين تقريبا في السنة.
أثناء وجوده في السجن ومؤسسات لا يمكن أن يساعد كثيرا ، ولكن الخط الساخن للعمال المهاجرين لا مرتين في الأسبوع ، ويساعد.
إذا كنت القبض عليه ان يقول انه يسعى للجوء ، وقول الحقيقة — وليس للقتال مع الجنود ، وليس كذبة.
معظم اللاجئين السودانيين من السجن إما بسبب الإجراءات القانونية ، أو بسبب عدم وجود حيز أكبر في السجن لوضع جديدة.
بعد إطلاق سراحهم يجب أن تكون قادرة على العثور على عمل وعدم العودة إلى اعتقالهم.
عليك أن تعلم أن الجيش المصري من الحدود واللاجئين واطلاق النار لا بل وقتل البعض. لم يحدث الكثير ، ولكنه يحدث.
